Wow.  We have developed a saying in Newport “Everything is Connected.”  Since we conducted our research of the historical documents at Otto Printing we found an unbelievable connection to our other haunted place in Sin City .  Robin Carroway, author of Newport , Kentucky : the Sin City Years did research that shows a man by the name of B.F. Kramer worked where the Otto Printing Building is but lived where the Sin City Building is.  

Also we found that one of the jury members from the Pearl Bryan Case worked at Otto Printing. 

 

To make matters even more spokey we found that a man that believed to have killed his wife, Claude Mauget lived around the area of Otto Printing.

The more I look at the evidence from Sin City Antiques the more scared I am. I think there is really something to this building and its ghosts.  When different investigation teams go through and pull out the same kid voice on their evp.  I have also grown concerned for the kid ghost there because the latest EVP has it Saying “Mean People.”  The other thing that is particularly creep is the spirits seem like they are trying to contact the owner.  Another EVP from the NKYPS team says Mean People.

The NKYPS team is at it again.  This time they did a live broadcast from the U.S.S. Nightmare.  It is actually haunted.  One of the lead investigators, Crystal was actually grabbed by a spirit.  This interaction was recorded on live streaming video and right after that they took a picture.  We will be posting the picture shortly.  There is just something about Newport .
 
 
I went to the house in which Pearl Bryan’s body was taken after they found her murdered in 1897.  There were so many compelling ghost stories by Cyndi and John Mendel.  My favorite was the one where a reporter showed up to do a story on the ghost that haunt the place but started by saying “I want you to know I don’t believe in this stuff.”  After about five minutes at the house a fireball and white smoke appeared out of no where.  The reporter was so scared she left and finished the interview by phone.  That was the only time anything like that happened here.  To read about six other ghostly encounters at this house look for our book Newport is Haunted.
 
 
Here we go again! Another night of Ghost Hunting. This time we are in Otto Printing. (I saw my first Ghost here.) I have to say I am really nervous to be back. We are setting up, and getting ready to get started. I am excited... and I am also freaking out.

I will let you know how the rest of the night goes! I think I have bitten off everyone of my finger nails.... wish me luck!
 
 
We have discovered so many stories from the newport area, that we can't include them all on the tour, but we can fill a book. This past weekend, we put some of the finishing touches on our book.

Friday, I went out on a photoshoot. It was exciting, and a little spooky. I can't wait to get our photos back from our Photographer Claudia Bodington. She is a great up and coming Photographer. Afraid of the dark, but takes amazing photos!
 
 
There is a first for everything right? It was intense, it was scary, and I screamed like a girl.

Last Night, while meeting with building owners in a prospective haunting investigation site, I saw my first ghost. We were walking around the building, they were telling me about the activity they had experienced. I didnt have a flash light but instead was using my iphone as a light.

While it was certainly creepy walking around the building, I wasn't scared, until, we got to the 3rd floor. While they were trying to get a door open, I was scanning the area with my iphone, and suddenly I stopped, I saw something. It looked like a small child crouching down, I couldn't speak. I moved closer to disprove my eyes, to make sense of it, and suddenly the child looked straight up into my eyes. It was dead. I screamed. The man who was with me turned his flash light on the spot, and the ghost vanished.

I looked around the area to see if there were boxes or something, anything that could disprove what I just saw. The space was completely empty. I am still shaking.

Needless to say we will be doing more investigation at this spot, and I will be carrying salt in my pocket for a little while.
 
 
If you are worried about hauntings, below are a few tips and tricks to prevent being haunted.

Prevent Home Hauntings
1. After a death in the family, cover all your mirrors and open all of the windows and doors in the house, this way your family member can move to the other side without being trapped in the house.

2. On Halloween build a fire outside of your home, (typical outdoor fireplace works well) this will help keep roaming spirits from entering your house on Halloween night.

3. Smudge your house with sage. Open each window in the house just a bit, then take a dried bundle of sage light the sage and make sure you have a "fire safe" receptacle to gather ashes while you walk around the entire home. Let the smoke clean the energy and the space. (Make sure you disable the smoke alarm during the process, and then plug it back in once you are finished!)

Prevent Personal Hauntings
1. After being in a haunted space make sure to walk over running water, ie a bridge, river, stream, lake. The spirit is unable to cross moving water, and you will be free.

2. Gentle and respectfully talk to the Ghost, they are people too. Tell them  that they have passed, and that you want to help them move on, this should do the trick. If you need help contact a Medium, or other specialist.

3. Carry a protection charm, examples:
  • Salt
  • Lodestone
  • Rosemary wrapped around a sea shell with red thread carried in your pocket works well too.

 
 
Hi, I am Code Name Scaredy Cat. I am now more jumpy than ever with all of these new adventures in Paranormal Research, and Haunting Investigations. I have always believed in Ghosts, but count myself lucky not to have seen any. I am not sure if I am brave enough.

Recently, after doing some leg work, and serious research into ghostly sightings and stories. I contacted a Medium name Melissa. We met at the Syndicate for a drink, and then a quick walk around the City.

It was intense, to say the very least. She noticed a presence as soon as she walked into the Syndicate. Once I heard that I couldnt wait to get started. Our walk was one of violence, saddness, and lots and lots of ghosts! I wasn't sure if I was safer inside or out!

While I didn't see any ghost, I did noticed the air pressure, and drastic temperature changes as we walked along. My stomach was queasy in certain spots. ( I'm not sure if it was just nerves or Ghostly Energy, which can often have that affect )

I can't tell all, unless you come check out the tour, and even then, there are a few things too GHASTLY to tell. I know I haven't slept sound for at least a week.
